Nice Canon GPS Receiver photos

Tangier, VA

"No phone, no pool, no pets, I ain’t got no cigarettes…" The Lyrics to King of the Road come to mind when thinking of Tangier. On an island with a year-round population of about 500, it’s a laid back and tranquil pace of life with a unique dialect.

Tangier Rappahannock Cruises whisked us from Buzzard Point Marina to Tangier Island late in the morning of May 14, 2016. We rented a golf cart to get around the island since there are no vehicles. I used a Canon GPS Receiver GP-E2 to track points along the route as best I could.

OK, several of my contacts have uploaded one of these bleeding hearts so now I feel obliged.

I also shot it with my new/old Pentax 6×7 + 135/4, but the shutter speed was slow (& handheld) so I’m afraid it’s going to have camera shake.

My GF1 + Switar to the rescue! 😀

I have spent the last few days experimenting with a Sony 28-135mm cine lens and I have had lots of problems with settings etc. Many of the photographs that I took were out of focus because of errors that I made.

I have been out of action for about three days because my iMac crashed after an upgrade. I discovered that a number if important system files were missing. Today I discovered that the was an Adobe issue that may have caused my problems: “Adobe has fixed an update that deleted important files without notice” businessetc.thejournal.ie/adobe-update-cloud-delete-26050…

Nice Speedlite Flashes photos

A few nice Speedlite Flashes images I found:

Stolen!

So, last week my camera rig (a Rebel Xti with a speedlite flash and some other goodies) was stolen out of my car. I don’t know if anyone’s noticed, but there hasn’t been a shot of any real quality in my photostream in quite some time, and this is the reason.

So, I’m asking anyone who sees this–do you have a used dSLR (preferably an xti), or know someone who does that would sell it to me at a discount? I’m in a big hurry, because this couldn’t have come at a worse time; I’m moving to Brazil in two weeks and it will be hard for me to get a camera once I’m there.

Experimenting with the speedlite flash system here. I’m finding that the flash helps to capture the movement of the wings much clearer and really helps to bring out more details of the feathers.

Day two. FedEx arrived bearing gifts today. A red case for my Raspberry Pi, and a couple of these suckers. 74HC4094 (this is actually the 74HCT4094), an 8-stage serial shift register. At 72cents a ordered a few, and it turned out to be worth it, as the bugger bents its legs when I tried to insert it!

The board is now nearly complete. Need to re-do a couple solder joints and clean it up before trying it out. Leaving shortly for a month in Europe, so hopefully I can get this finished!

I used the paper holder for my Canon Selphy as a base for this, made it look like it’s floating
